What is Our Organization Really Like?

Above is what a typical coaching call looks like!

The I Pour Life team has grown over the last few months. One of our newest additions, Taylor Sidebottom , gave us a look into why she wanted to work for us! Taylor is a LifeStrengths coach and has worked at I Pour Life since October of this year.

Taylor found out about I Pour Life online while looking for a rewarding career in my field of study. She decided to apply because she wanted to be involved in an organization that focused on empowering at-risk youth.

“I love the purpose of this organization and I wanted to be a part of it. I’ve worked with this demographic for about five years now. I have a passion for helping people find their confidence in who they are so this organization was a great fit for me. It’s my dream job!

The culture of I Pour Life influenced me to work here. The positive and future focused atmosphere at this organization sets an ambitious tone for me. I wake up every morning excited and motivated to work. All the staff are encouraging and work well together for a common goal.

The culture is very “open-door” which makes it a safe space for their employees to work to their full potential. I’ve never experienced a workplace culture that allows everyone to feel appreciated and heard which makes I Pour Life stand out.

This place is one in a million! I’m so blessed to be a part of this organization.”

What experience do you have working with youth?

I started working with youth when I was a Counseling Coach at camp for children of prisoners and fell in love with that demographic. I then went on to be an investigator for the State to help give youth a voice. Now I’m blessed to be working with youth aging out of the foster care system. I get to help them find their voice and confidence through the Life Strengths Program. Adulting is hard so I’m honored to be there to encourage young people and help set them up for success.

Have you started coaching? If so, what have you learned so far?

I have learned a lot so far while coaching. I’ve learned that it takes patience and a safe space for people to open up. I’ve also learned that most of the youth that I work with are taking the program in like a sponge and are very engaged. They want to be coached and appreciate the things that they are learning. My youth want to be independent and this program is a guide to helping them get there. Adulting is hard and this program is a great building block to creating a solid foundation for future obstacles and milestones in life. I Pour Life is there to help equip these youth to handle future challenges independently. I wish I had a program like this when I was their age. Challenges happen to all of us everyday and this program is going to be a huge tool for these young people.

What has been the most unexpected thing since starting at I Pour Life?

I was not expecting I Pour Life to have such a healthy-minded approach toward their staff and the youth. The demographic that I Pour Life works with needs encouragement and support as well as a positive influence in their life. These youth have been through so much and it’s an honor to be a part of an organization that wants to help empower them.

What are you most looking forward to about working at I Pour Life?

What I’m looking forward to the most about working at I Pour Life is seeing my youth grow as individuals according to their goals. It is such a blessing to be a part of their journey!

We are so excited to have Taylor on our team!Spread the love
