These Amazing Youth Inspire Us

How I Pour Life ignites growth in emerging adults

‘My Son Actually Has Goals

Just this week, Gracelin, LifeCoach Lead, had a long call with a nominator. This nominator is in central Missouri and has nominated several youth into I Pour Life’s programs.

“I just want you guys to know how much I believe in what you are doing,” the nominator said. “My son is almost done with the program, and he actually has goals now. He is motivated, he is doing well in school, and has perfect attendance this year. He is positive and having conversations with us about his desire to go to college now. You have given my child a voice. What I have seen from I Pour Life is you give kids a voice. I nominate and tell other people to nominate because I believe in what you do.”

Building Healthy Boundaries and Relationships

“I just had a great coaching session in [our] relationships [section] with one of my youth,” LifeCoach Kylie said. “She shared how she let go of an unhealthy friend and thanked me for taking time to teach her about boundaries and healthy relationships. She also said she has started to branch out to make new friends, as she was very shy before and has felt happier and more at peace with herself.”

New Job, New Apartment, New Heights!

“One of my youth starts her new job that she got on the spot due to her crushing her mock interview and putting those skills into practice,” LifeCoach Lexie shared. “A second youth is moving into her independent living program this week to get her first step towards living independently after she graduates high school. This has been a long time coming and happened because of the way she’s learned to use her words to advocate for herself and to control her emotions to be able to have a positive response since starting our program.

“Another one passed the first part of her HiSet exams, so she can be an official graduate and has the rest of the tests coming up soon. This comes after her having a baby in November, and I just think she’s doing amazing to balance all the things while also learning how to be a mama.”

Choosing Sobriety

“I had a youth achievement today,” LifeCoach Will said. “He reached eights months of sobriety. He has been the chair at his NA meetings and has only one semester after this of electrical engineering before he is certified. This youth joined the program, then got heavy into drugs and caught a few felonies. When he got out of jail, he reached out to me to rejoin and has been attending faithfully since. I am very proud of him.”

Team Up With I Pour Life

I Pour Life has a waitlist for youth right now, and we need support to help move youth off of our waitlist and into our evidence-based life-changing programs. Visit ipourlife.org/give to help cover the cost of I Pour Life’s programs.
