LifeStrengths North Texas

BY I POUR LIFE

Leading Positive Youth Development in Dallas

Evidence-Based Development Strategy

LifeStrengths is an evidence-based, positive youth development system created by I Pour Life to address the unique needs of at-risk youth ages 16-24 who are aging out of the foster care system, living in generational poverty, or are young adult offenders by pairing them with an on-staff LifeCoach.

When youth are paired with a LifeCoach who invests in them, believes in them, and coaches them to become self-sufficient, they are able to release past labels, break the cycle of generational poverty and reliance on government subsidies, and pursue their dreams.

Our Unique Approach

LifeStrengths North Texas aims to develop at-risk and homeless youth in the Dallas area to rewrite their futures, replacing labels of loneliness and hopelessness with community and opportunity.

Through one-on-one and group meetings in local high schools, LifeCoaches will help youth discover their strengths, make plans for their futures, and stand in the gap for at-risk youth. Site-based LifeCoaches work alongside teachers, counselors, and administrative school staff to help every youth graduate high school prepared for a self-sufficient adulthood.

The Demand for Youth Development in Dallas

Similar to other large, metro areas in the U.S., Dallas has many youth who are on track to drop out of school, become young adult offenders, have a teenage pregnancy, or stay dependent on government subsidies well into adulthood. LifeStrengths North Texas officially launched in the Dallas region at the start of 2019 as a solution to this ongoing epidemic.

The Vision

LifeStrengths Texas aims to develop at-risk and homeless youth in the North Texas area to rewrite their futures, replacing labels of loneliness and hopelessness with community and opportunity.

Through one-on-one and group meetings in local high schools, LifeCoaches will help youth discover their strengths, make plans for their futures, and stand in the gap for youth who are at-risk, in the foster care and judicial systems, Child Protective Services, and who struggle with homelessness. Site-based LifeCoaches work alongside teachers, counselors, and administrative school staff to help every youth graduate high school prepared for self-sufficient adulthood. I Pour Life’s site-based coaching will also extend to after-school hour programs to provide developmental support in the lives of at-risk youth after the school day ends.
