LifeStrengths Missouri

LifeStrengths was launched in Springfield, Missouri in 2015 to meet the unique needs of at-risk youth.

LifeCoaching

As LifeStrengths grew, the need for a skilled coaching staff become more apparent. The program moved from utilizing community based volunteer coaches to staffed direct service LifeCoaches. These coaches spent a minimum of 1 hr/week with each LifeStrengths youth coaching them through the barriers and challenges uniquely faced by at-risk youth between the ages of 15 and 24 years old.

In 2015, I Pour Life conducted a community assessment with Missouri State University and realized that at-risk youth were underserved in the community. Youth were often able to have their immediate needs met, but few were investing in the development of these youth to help them become independent and self-sufficient adults. Out of this assessment, LifeStrengths was birthed and has now grown into a recognized innovative solution for helping at-risk youth leave past labels behind and successfully transition into adulthood.

Weekly Youth Participation

We appreciate the mentoring relationship that IPL provides our girls as it goes above and beyond a weekly interaction and nurtures an experience that calls our girls to bigger and better things. IPL mentors have been able to model what it means for our girls to be respectful and responsible young women. Their presence in the lives of our girls has had a long-lasting and influential impact.

I Pour Life has changed my life in so many ways that it is really hard to explain. I have learned a lot about attitude and ways to say things nicer. I have also learned about relationships.
