At only 17 years old, Austin was kicked out of his own home by his father and forced to transition into the world entirely alone. Unfortunately, this was not the first time Austin had been abandoned. At 4 years old his mother chose to do drugs instead of raising a son. Austin was then adopted but his relationship with his adoptive father was far from ideal. It deteriorated as Austin grew older. Sadly, Austin’s adoptive mother died while he was a teenager and Austin’s father blamed him for causing his mother stress that lead up to her death. This lead to Austin being kicked out and choosing to enter the care of the state.
At a family dinner at I Pour Life, Austin became interested in joining the LifeStrengths program. He began one-on-one coaching with Andreas and finally had the support he needed. He quickly implemented the lessons about relationships and future thinking from the LifeStrengths curriculum.
Through many ups and downs and job changes, Austin obtained a stable job at a grocery store. He showed tremendous growth and is now at 19 years-old is a manager of the store and a keyholder. He has obtained many responsibilities including closing the store at night.
In his personal life, Austin learned and implemented many important boundaries. When he began to have an income he did not have any financial boundaries and gave his money to others. After working with his LifeCoach, he now knows the importance of setting aside savings, having boundaries, and taking care of himself first.
Austin has excelled in many other areas of his life and has transitioned into adulthood with the help of his coach, Andreas. Austin holds a strong desire to achieve and grow despite the obstacles life has thrown in his way.
