Growth and Grit
After experiencing heartbreaking loss and turbulence in her life, Maddie entered foster care. She needed positive adults in her life to support and believe in her, and as a result, her caseworker nominated her into I Pour Life’s programs.
One challenge Maddie shared with her LifeCoach, Samantha, was that she struggled with consistent negative thought patterns. Throughout her journey with I Pour Life, Samantha witnessed Maddie’s incredible growth and grit with a desire to focus on the positive.
“Her willingness to not just participate but truly engage in each session has been so encouraging,” Samantha says. “Once she started to see positive aspects of her life, Maddie truly dove in and went after her goals.”
Positive Changes
During her time in the LifeStrengths program, Maddie moved and as a result of the new placement, she needed to change employment. Despite the challenges, she managed the transition well. She moved to a new city and landed a job right after the placement switch.
Maddie sent Samantha a text, “I got the job!!! I am so glad I joined the I Pour Life program. You have helped me so much. You have no idea. You and the program are so positive, and it makes me positive. Thank you.”
Milestones Worth Celebrating
She also passed her driver’s exam and obtained her driver’s license during her time in the LifeStrengths program, which are significant milestones.
“It has been a little over a year since coaching began with Maddie, and in that time, she has had so much personal growth, held employment, graduated from the LifeStrengths program, exited care, and moved into her first apartment,” Samantha says. “She has an amazing goal of staying strong in her boundaries and has expressed how much her sessions in I Pour Life have helped her do that. I am incredibly proud of Maddie and her desire to reach her goals and grow personally.”
